Description
Karim Peltonen has been at the service of STUK (Radiation and Nuclear Safety Auhtority) since 2020 as a head of department. Under the title of director he is responsible for STUK’s communications and public relations, emergency preparedness and response and international cooperation.
Mr Peltonen joined STUK from the civil sector where he worked at the service of a national NGO – National Rescue Association (SPEK) – where he was responsible for the research and development services.
Karim has long experience on engagement of civil society into national emergency preparedness and accident prevention. He has also worked among others with crisis and risk communication and widely in international cooperation.
Karim holds a master’s degree in cultural studies from University of Helsinki, he has also complementary studies in management and communication.
