Description
Jorge Vitorino is a European Commission official with over twenty years’ experience in EU trade policy and European affairs. He currently Heads the Unit responsible for Investment and for Intellectual Property, in the Directorate-General for Trade of the European Commission.
Previously, in the same department, he was the Head of Unit dealing with interinstitutional relations, working closely with the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. Between 2007 and 2011 Jorge was posted to the EU delegation to the World Trade Organisation and other international organisations in Geneva, representing the EU in WTO negotiations such as Trade Facilitation or Trade and Environment, as well as UNCTAD matters.
Jorge has a university degree in Economics from University of Coimbra, Portugal, and a Master of Arts in European Economics from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
