Description
Elizabeth Schaefer is the Deputy Executive Director of SelectUSA, a U.S. government-wide program that works to attract foreign direct investment to the United States. In this role, she leads investor and economic development organization service delivery throughout the US and Foreign Commercial Service.
In addition to this role in SelectUSA, Elizabeth serves as the Director of Investment Research, responsible for evaluation, and analytical work relating to foreign direct investment promotion in the United States. Other prior roles in the International Trade Administration (ITA) include serving as an international macroeconomic expert with the ITA’s Office of Trade and Economic Analysis, providing decision makers with economically grounded, data-driven recommendations applicable to current trade and investment policy.
Elizabeth has an M.A. in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland.
