Torben Hansen is Deputy Division Chief in the Public Financial Management I Division of the IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department. Since joining the IMF in 2013, he has led capacity development activities focusing on countries in the Middle East, Europe, and Anglophone Africa and participated in analytical work on public financial management, including infrastructure governance. He is a co-editor of the IMF’s recent book Well Spent: How Strong Infrastructure Governance Can End waste in Public Investment. Before joining the IMF, he held senior positions at the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minister’s Office. He earned an MSc in economics from the University of Copenhagen.
