Description
Herman Wijnants works for Rijkswaterstaat. Rijkswaterstaat is an executing agency of the Dutch government and is dedicated to promote safety, mobility and the quality of life in the Netherlands. Herman is team leader Energy and Climate and works closely with one of his teams making the highway network in the Netherlands more climate resilient. The Government of the Netherlands aims for a climate resilient infrastructure in 2050. Before, Herman worked in Australia for the New South Wales Office of Environment and Heritage in their climate change department. He contributed to the first Green Bond issuance of the state. As a consultant, he advised local, regional and national governments and multilateral institutions on climate change and the effective use of public funding. He also worked for the World Bank on their Cleaner Production programme in Asia. He started his career on greening the Dutch tax system.
