Jane Keenan has been contributing to environmental policy development for over two decades. Jane is currently the Director of the Government of Canada’s Centre for Greening Government within the Treasury Board Secretariat. The Centre is working with federal departments and agencies towards zero-carbon, sustainable and climate-resilient government operations. Jane has also held leadership roles at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans as well as at Environment and Climate Change Canada. In these roles she advanced domestic and international environmental policies related to climate policy and clean energy. Her outreach focused on the natural resource sector, Indigenous peoples as well as strategic engagement with the United States. Jane started her career with the Province of New Brunswick where she led the development of environmental legislation and regulations to improve air quality and reduce waste. Jane has a Masters in Environmental Studies from York University, a Bachelor of Law from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from Saint Francis Xavier University.
