Description
Carlos Sanchez is Executive Director for the Coalition for Climate Resilient Investment (CCRI). A flagship COP26 initiative, CCRI is private sector-led initiative. With 129 members representing USD25tn in financial assets, CCRI is developing and piloting solutions for a more efficient integration of physical climate risks within investment appraisal methods. Carlos is currently seconded from his role at WTW as Senior Director for Climate Resilience Investment. At WTW, his work focuses on the integration of physical climate risks in asset valuation and investment decision-making processes.
Carlos has served as member of the State of California’s State of California has launched the Climate-Related Risk Disclosure Advisory Group, and is vice-Chair at CFA UK’s Climate and Investing Certification Panel. Carlos also serves as member of the Global Adaptation and Resilience Investment Group (GARI) Advisory Board.
Prior to CCRI and WTW, Carlos led a climate resilience finance programme at the Multilateral Investment Fund in Washington, D.C. dedicated to identifying specific investment opportunities in connection to physical climate risks. In the past Carlos worked at the Economic Office of the Spanish Embassy in Angola as Foreign Direct Investment Advisor and later as Business Development Manager for a project finance advisory firm.
Carlos holds a Master in Finance from the London Business School where he contributed to the drafting of the ESG chapter within LBS’ Private Equity textbook, and a Masters in Global Affairs from Georgetown University.
