Dexter Docherty

OECD

Strategic Foresight Analyst

Description

Dexter is Canadian and Irish dual citizen who works to strengthen strategic foresight and long-term thinking across the OECD and governments around the world as well as to bring a stronger future focus to global dialogue on key policy issues. Dexter is the lead on the OECD’s Foresight for Successful Net Zero Transitions project, which involves stress-testing climate policy strategies against potential disruptions to ensure they are equipped to be robust and resilient across a range of possible futures. The aim is to challenge prevailing assumptions and stimulate ongoing dialogue on the most adaptive policies for a rapidly evolving and uncertain world. Before joining the OECD, Dexter worked in the Government of Canada at Policy Horizons and the Department of Justice. Dexter has a Master’s Degree in Science in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation at the University of Oxford and a BA in history from McGill University.
