Commissioner for Employment and Policies Against Precariousness of Barcelona City Council

Description

Degree in Law and postgraduate in International Studies, specializing in the European Union. Raquel has developed her activity focusing on advocacy of citizenshipā€™s rights , equality and social policies from different approaches. Specialized in labor market, employment policies and equal opportunities , she has hold different positions at UGT (workers Union) for more than a decade. She has experience in social policies management in the local level, performing as Director of the Area of Citizenship Rights and Social Policies at the City Council of Sant Feliu de Llobregat. Currently working as a Commissioner for the promotion of employment and policies against precariousness in Barcelona City Council, she works, together with Barcelona Activa, developing strategies to promote quality employment in the city. Some of her objectives is the establishment of a model of employment policies that place people at the center, improving the support for the unemployed, giving attention to the most disadvantaged people in the city, a commitment to professional reskilling, through innovation in learning tools, artificial intelligence and quality care in order to train unemployed people with a forecast of labor demand. Member of the Executive Committee of the Resseau International des CitĆ© de MĆ©tiers and currently Chair of the WG Employment of Eurocities.
