Description
Sujatha Raman is Professor at the Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS), Australian National University (ANU). She leads the UNESCO Chair in Science Communication for the Public Good, a flagship program of work on inclusive and integrative ways of bringing science, technology and innovation to bear on the sustainable development goals. She is Associate Editor of the Journal of Responsible Innovation and Engaging Science, Technology and Society. Raman was previously Co-director of the Institute for Science and Society (ISS), University of Nottingham (UK) and Director of the Leverhulme Research Programme, ‘Making Science Public’. Trained in social, cultural and policy studies of science and technology, Raman’s work aims to foster the forms of expertise needed to respond to planetary crises in the context of contemporary demands for justice and equity. Recent publications include ‘The Contextualization Deficit: Reframing Trust in Science for Multilateral Policy’, a collaboration with the International Science Council’s think-tank, the Centre for Science Futures.
