Ambassador to the OECD, Permanent Representative
Description
Ambassador Hernán Frigolett Córdova assumed his duties as Permanent Representative of Chile to
the OECD on August 16, 2024.
Mr. Frigolett holds a Bachelor´s degree in Economics from Universidad de Chile. He also holds a
Master Degree in Science in Economics from Queen Mary & Westfield College, University of London.
He began his professional career as the Head of the National Accounts Department at the Central
Bank of Chile.
Between 2000 and 2014, Mr. Frigolett served in prominent consulting positions at both local and
international levels, providing services to various institutions, including the National Environmental
Authority of Panama, the Central Bank of Honduras, Universidad Autónoma de Tabasco in Mexico,
the Institute of Tourism of Guatemala, the Chilean Ministry of Culture and the Arts, and the Chilean
Ministry of Health.
He also served as a legislative advisor on tax policy and budget analysis to various Chilean senators.
From 2014 until 2018, Mr. Frigolett acted as General Treasurer of Chile. Before his appointment as
Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Chile to the OECD, he was the Commissioner of the
Chilean Internal Revenue Service, a role he held from 2022.
In addition to his government service, Mr. Frigolett has been a professor in several universities in
Chile, including Universidad de Santiago de Chile and Universidad de Los Lagos.
