Description
Micheline Dionne served as President of the International Actuarial Association in 2023. In 2024, she serves as an Officer of the IAA as Immediate Past President, Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, member of the Executive Committee, and Vice-Chair of the Nominations Committee.
Prior to 2023, she was chair of the IAA Climate Risk Task Force and of the Resource and Environment Forum. Since starting her involvement with the IAA, she has also been co-vice-chair of the Insurance Accounting Committee (2012-2015) and IAA delegate to the IFRS Advisory Council (2014-2019).
She started her career working for a local canadian life insurance company and subsequently for a local consulting firm. In 1987, she joined Metropolitan Life Canadian operations with various assignment to finally become their Appointed Actuary. Later on, she joined RGA Canada (Reinsurance Group of America) as Appointed Actuary and subsequently became Chief Actuary.
During 2009-2010, Micheline served as president of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and was a CIA Board member from 2006 to 2012. She was also a member of the CIA Actuarial Standard Board from 2006 to 2009.
