Paula Redondo Pereira leads the Listing and Regulatory Affairs at the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) with a robust legal background and expertise in capital markets law and regulation. Since 2019, Paula has been heading LuxSE’s Regulatory Affairs team, and in 2023, she also took charge of the International Primary Markets, one of LuxSE’s core business teams.
In her role, Paula monitors legal and regulatory reforms to anticipate potential barriers and identify new business opportunities for LuxSE and the Luxembourg Green Exchange (LGX). She oversees all listing activities at LuxSE, ensuring compliance and strategic growth.
Paula represents LuxSE and LGX in various industry associations, including the Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE), where she was elected to the Board in 2022, the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), and the International Capital Market Association (ICMA). Additionally, she contributed to the European Commission Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance.
Prior to joining LuxSE, Paula served as a Legal Advisor at the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) and later as the Head of Cabinet and Legal Advisor to the Secretary of State for European Affairs at Portugal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Her legal career also includes practice at the Spanish law firm UrÃa Menéndez and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York, where she represented Latin American issuers and underwriters in public and private equity and debt securities offerings.
Paula holds a Law Degree from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, an LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law from Georgetown University, and a Master’s in European Affairs from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where she also served as a Guest Professor until 2019. She further enhanced her leadership skills with the Transition to General Management executive program at INSEAD.
In recognition of her leadership and dedication to the capital markets ecosystem, Paula was named among the WFE Women Leaders in 2021, celebrating talented women in the global capital markets industry.
