Description

Katia Karousakis is Biodiversity Team Lead at the Environment Directorate of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The OECD biodiversity programme focuses on the economics and policy of biodiversity, covering issues such as effective design of policy instruments, biodiversity finance and mainstreaming. She has led numerous reports including for the G7. Katia joined the OECD in 2006, initially working on climate change within the OECD/IEA Climate Change Expert Group for two years. Prior to this, she worked on climate change issues at the U.S. EPA. An environmental economist by training, Katia has a PhD from UCL (University College London), UK, and a Masters’ degree from Duke University, USA.
