Description
Martha Rojas Urrego is a global leader on conservation of nature, sustainable development and humanitarian relief. She is the incoming Executive Secretary of the International Whaling Commission and served as the Secretary-General of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. She was Deputy-Secretary General a.i and Head of Global Advocacy at CARE International from 2009 to 2016, and Head of Global Policy at IUCN from 1994 to 2008. Before that she served as Director-General of National Parks and negotiator of Colombia in several multilateral environmental agreements.
