Description
Lene Wendland is a lawyer by training and has has led the work on business and
human rights in the UN Human Rights Office for more than 10 years. In that capacity
she was part of John Ruggie's team throughout the process of developing the UN
Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Her team now focuses on efforts
to support implementation of the Guiding Principles in government and key
industry sectors through providing advice, tools and guidance on interpretation and
implementation. She is also the OHCHR focal point for the UN Global Compact and
has contributed to the development of tools and guidance for business on the
implementation of the Global Compact human rights principles.
