Biography
Andrea Casu was born in Rome on 6 November 1981. He graduated in Administration Sciences at the University of Rome Unitelma La Sapienza, where he also obtained a post-graduate Master's degree in Governance, Management and E-government of Public Administrations. He was first elected to Italy’s Chamber of Deputies in 2021 (Democratic Party); in October 2022 he was re-elected. He has served on the Committee on Transport, Post and Telecommunications as well as on the Committee of Inquiry into illegal activities associated to the waste cycle. He is the Democratic Party’s Secretary for Rome; in 2019 he was elected to the National Direction of the Democratic Party. In Rome he has served as municipal councillor in the Municipio 1 district; in the Municipio 4 district he has served as alderman for productive activities, commerce, security, territorial development, innovation and digital administration. He has worked as an assistant in the office of the Chairperson of the Defence Committee of the Senate of the Republic. He is one of the founding members of the Young Democrats.
