Biography
Edmondo Cirielli is a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies since 2001, at first in the ranks of Alleanza Nazionale, then of Casa delle Libertà (House of Freedoms) and, in 2012, of Fratelli d’Italia (Brothers of Italy). From 2003 to 2006 he served as Vice Chair of the Alleanza Nazionale parliamentary group. From 2008 to 2013 he served as Chair of the Defence Committee. In 2013 he was appointed to the Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies as MP Secretary of the House. Since March 2018 he has been a member of the College of Quaestors of the Chamber of Deputies. He was also a member of the Regional Assembly of Campania from 1995 to 2001 as a representative of Alleanza Nazionale (National Alliance party). In June 2008, he was elected to the European Parliament, but opted to remain in the Italian Parliament. From 2009 to 2012 he was elected President of the Province of Salerno. Previously, Mr. Cirielli had attended the “Nunziatella” Military School of Naples, the Military Academy of Modena and the Carabinieri Cadet School in Rome. He graduated in Law from the University of Parma, in Political Science from the University of Salerno, and in Domestic and Foreign Security Science from the “Tor Vergata” University of Rome.
