Biography
Chairperson of the Turkish Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of CoE
He worked as Press Consultant at the Ministry of Trade. He served as a member of the Board of Directors at PETKİM AŞ and T.C. Development Bank, as Assistant General Manager at Ataköy Otelcilik AŞ, and as a manager and partner in various companies operating in the fields of medical, insurance and satellite imaging. He was a founding member and chairman of the Aydınlık Türkiye Party.
He was elected as Ankara MP for the 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th terms. In the 63rd and 64th governments, he served as Deputy Prime Minister.
He served as a Member of the Turkish Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in the 23rd, 24th, 26th and 27th Terms and as the Chairman of the Turkey-Ukraine Friendship Group.
