Biography

Fernando Adolfo Iglesias has been a Member of the Argentinian Chamber of Deputies since 2017, after a first mandate from 2007 to 2011. Fernando Adolfo Iglesias is currently working as Director of the campaign for the creation of a Latin American Criminal Court, and Director of the Altiero Spinelli Chair of Regional Integration of the Consorzio Universitario Italiano per l'Argentina. He is also President of the World Federalist Movement, Director for the Americas of the Campaign for the establishment of a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly, and Coordinator of the Manifesto for a Global Democracy. Fernando Adolfo Iglesias has several distinctions, including Commendatore of the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity, conferred by the President of the Republic. Italian, On. Giorgio Napolitano, and delivered by Ambassador Guido La Tella in 2011. He also had a Distinction as an honorary member of the José Gervasio Artigas Chair for Integration (National University of La Plata) in 2011. Prior to becoming MP, Mr. Iglesias served as Vice-President of the Mercosur Commission of the Honorable Chamber of Deputies from 2009 to 2011. Between 2008 and 2011, he worked as Member of the Mercosur Parliament (Parlasur) and member of the Political Affairs Commission. He also served as Member of the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino) and member of the Commission for Political Affairs and Integration from 2007 to 2011. He holds Bachelor of the Normal Superior School of Avellaneda (ENSPA) and is a Senior Technician in Journalism (TEA). He graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Lomas de Zamora of the High Performance Sports (ARD) program.
