Biography

Senator of the Federative Republic of Brazil, responsible for numerous bills that has been presented to the senate for a vote. Rapporteur of the very important project, 1.864/2019 (anti-crime), which modified criminal legislation, criminal procedure to make it stricter, establishing measures against corruption, organized crime and crimes committed with serious violence to the person. The fight against corruption is one of Senator Marcos do Val's biggest banners, and this has been highlighted around the world. He was one of three chosen in Brazil to host the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) anti-corruption group in his office. Since the beginning of his mandate, Marcos do Val has already raised almost R$ 200 million from the Federal government to help his city. Of this amount, more than BRL 90 million were earmarked for health, most of which was used to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
