Biography

Mr Christophe CHAILLOU Born November 13, 1964 in Orléans In 1983, he was elected deputy mayor of Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle. In 1998, he was elected mayor, a position he held for 25 years. From 2001 to 2023, he was also a member of the Loiret departmental council. In July 2020, he was elected President of Orléans Métropole, a position from which he resigned after 15 months. Professionally, he joined the Council of European Municipalities and Regions in 1992, working alongside the Secretary General. In 2007, he was appointed Director General of its French structure until his election as Senator of the Loiret in September 2023. He is a member of the Socialist, Ecologist and Republican group. After his election, he resigned from his mandates as mayor and departmental councillor, remaining a municipal councillor and metropolitan councillor.
