Biography
Eva Herzog (*1961) holds a doctorate in history. She has been a member of the Council of States since 2019 and represents the Social Democratic party. At present, she is president of the Council of States. She is also vice-president of the Finance Committee and is a member of the Economic Affairs and Taxation Committee, the Transport and Telecommunications Committee, the Delegation for relations with the German Bundestag, as well as the Standing Parliamentary Delegation for Participation in OECD Activities. Prior to that, Eva Herzog was a member of the Basel-Stadt Cantonal Council and headed the Finance Department (finances, taxes, real estate, human resources and IT) from 2005 to 2019.
