Biography

Ms. Provoste Campillay is the first woman from the Diaguita ethnic group who becomes a Senator. She is a State Teacher, and she holds a Diploma in Decentralization and Local Governments. She was the Planification Minister (known today as the Ministry of Social Development) under the administration of the former president Ricardo Lagos. Afterward, under the administration of the former president Michelle Bachelet, she was the National Chair of the Integra Foundation (an institution dedicated to the early childhood development) and also the Educational Minister.She was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from 2014 to 2018. In 2017 she was elected as Senator and represented the Atacama Region with the highest national majority. She also has a Master in Educational Administration.She was the Regional Chair of the National Woman Service in Atacama, Governor of Huasco province, and the Atacama Region Intendant.
