Biography
Lina Gálvez Muñoz is a Member of the European Parliament since July 2019. She is Vice-chair of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and member of the Women's Rights and Gender Equality Committee and of the Panel for the Future of Science and Technology (STOA). She also belongs to the committees on Employment and Social Affairs. Lina Gálvez holds a PhD in Economic History and Institutions from the European University Institute (Florence). Prior to becoming an European parliamentary official, Lina Gálvez was Vice-Rector of her university from the period 2007 to 2012, and served as Regional Minister of Knowledge, Research and University of the Government of Andalusia from 2018 to 2019. Moreover, she has also been a full professor at the Economics Department of Pablo Olavide University (Seville), in addition to being a lecturer at Carlos III (Madrid) and Reading (Reading) University and visiting professor at the Centre for Time Use Research at Oxford University (Oxford). She has published more than a hundred scientific articles in specialized magazines.
