Biography
Christopher Holmes is a member of the House of Lords in UK. He is a passionate advocate for the potential of technology and the benefits of diversity and inclusion. He has co-authored House of Lords Select Committee Reports on Democracy and Digital Technologies [2020], Intergenerational Fairness [2019], Artificial Intelligence [2018], Financial Exclusion [2017], Social Mobility [2016] and Digital Skills [2015] Chris is co-chair of several Parliamentary Groups on technology and inclusion and published a report on Distributed Ledger Technology for Public Good and a review for the Cabinet Office on “Opening up public appointments to disabled people.” The review called on the government to improve recruitment processes so that boards of public bodies better reflect and represent the communities they serve. Chris is also Chair of Channel 4. An ex-solicitor and ex-Paralympic swimmer, Chris won nine gold, five silvers and one bronze medal across four Games, including a record haul of six golds at Barcelona 1992.
