Description
This is a joint presentation of two initiatives working to promote collaboration between universities in the Oresund region: CEMES and CORS.
• CEMES (Centre for Modern European Studies): An Öresund Network of Lund University, Malmö University and the University of Copenhagen
The task of the Centre for Modern European Studies (CEMES) is to promote and support research on modern Europe in an increasingly globalized world. The Centre aims to explore the last centuries’ political, cultural and intellectual transformation of Europe as well Europe’s relations with other regions in the world. CEMES actively coordinates and develops research and education on European issues based on a broad interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to the area. CEMES provides platforms for researchers to develop and discuss their research on European matters, including history, culture, media, politics, international relations, religions, philosophy, arts, and literature.
• CORS (The Centre for Oresund Region Studies - Centrum för Öresundsstudier)
CORS is an interdisciplinary network organization that creates dynamic meetings between researchers, and between researchers and actors outside of the academia. The Centre for Oresund Region Studies collaborates with the surrounding community on issues relating to the Oresund region from regional, national and transnational perspectives.
CORS focuses on border regions and, in particular, the Oresund region, as a transnational region and empirical research area. The Centre for Oresund Region Studies is also a platform for critical discussions on issues relevant to a variety of transnational processes, such as the border as barrier and engine, migration patterns, identity and politics, environmental and climate issues, cultural heritage and technology.
• CORS takes this opportunity to present a student lead project about sustainability and fashion.
