Programme info

Description

The MTU Student Enterprise Camp is a regional initiative funded by the Higher Education Authority of Ireland and delivered by Munster Technological University, supporting youth development for students aged 13-17years in the areas of entrepreneurship and employment and skills. Indicating the initiatives sustainability and impact, the programme has run since 2012 and has benefited over 500 young people in urban and rural communities. The FREE Camp empowers young people from schools in the city, county and disadvantaged areas with the digital, employability and entrepreneurial skills and mindset needed to help them navigate in today’s world and into the future. The programme aims to build a more socially conscious global citizen driving local, social, community and economic transformation. These objectives are achieved through a series of activities, workshops, challenges and talks over a 3 day period employing the EntreComp Framework. The students learn about the SDGs and embark on a team collaboration to develop an idea to solve a social problem that shows their understanding of the SDGs and enterprise. Students use their skills acquired during the Camp to create a graphic and elevator pitch to communicate their idea.
