Siavosh Derakhti has personally experienced being marginalized, struggling in school, and feeling excluded. Siavosh speaks on topics such as integration, diversity, inspiration, motivation, and racism. He is the founder of the non-profit organization UMAF – Young People Against Anti-Semitism and Xenophobia. Through his work, Siavosh has aimed to combat exclusion, intolerance, Antisemitism, Islamophobia, and racism among children and youth in Malmö and across Sweden. In 2013, Siavosh had the privilege of meeting U.S. President Barack Obama during his state visit to Stockholm on September 4-5. Siavosh is the first recipient of the newly established ELSA Award from the Swedish Committee Against Antisemitism and the inaugural Raoul Wallenberg Prize from the Raoul Wallenberg Academy, which was presented by Sweden's Minister for Integration. Siavosh has received several honors: the Swedish Hero of the Year award from Svenska Hjältar and the Compass Rose Scholarship for the Non-Profit Sector from the King’s Foundation for Young Leadership in 2015. He was also named Super Communicator of the Year by Veckans Affärer, one of the world's most influential young leaders by Forbes Magazine, and received the Human Rights First Award.
