Ms. Richter Hume joined the IMF’s Statistics Department (STA) as Deputy Director in February 2020. She supervises the department’s activities in data analytics, management, and operations; government finance statistics; donor-financed capacity development; and communications and outreach. She also serves as the Chair of the IMF’s Knowledge Management Advisory Committee. Prior to joining STA, Ms. Richter Hume held IMF leadership positions in areas including economic policy, budget and planning, human resources, knowledge and data management, and communications. With over 20 years of operational and policy experience at the IMF, she has worked on country teams in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. Prior to joining the IMF, she worked on international economic policy issues in the U.S. government, as an economist at the Council of Economic Advisers. Ms. Richter Hume holds an M.Phil. and a D.Phil. in Economics from the University of Oxford (UK), as well as a B.A. in Economics from Princeton University.
