Presentation

Dieter has more than 30 years of experience in the areas of rural and ag finance, impact investing, innovative financing mechanisms, green finance, financial inclusion and social entrepreneurship, mostly in Latin America and the Caribbean. As part of his 21 years at the IDB, since 2007 he has been working on loan, investment and technical cooperation projects in the IDB Lab’s Investment Unit and coordinating the IDB’s Social Entrepreneurship Program. He coordinates a Green Climate Fund (GCF) climate-smart agricultural funding facility for Mexico and Guatemala, among other debt and equity operations in the region. Prior to joining the IDB, he worked in several international NGOs in Canada, Ecuador, Bolivia and Peru. He holds a master’s degree in International Development from Harvard University, and is based in the IDB headquarters in Washington, DC.
