Peter Nicholas is a Director at Social Finance, involved in developing Impact Bonds and Outcomes Funds in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. His recent work has focussed on the Mashriq, Southern Africa and Liberia, including education and skills training Impact Bonds in Jordan and Palestine, as well as on Outcomes Funds in the health sector globally. He also has over 25 years of management and project experience at the World Bank, including leading operational teams in Africa, South Asia and the Caucasus. His work ranged from outcomes-based country support strategies to community-based social development, and from capital raising for low-income countries to the fiscal impact of mining investments. He has published on the social costs of economic restructuring and on the special needs of small economies. Peter is a Trustee of BRAC UK. He holds an M.Phil. in Economics and a D.Phil. in Philosophy from Oxford University.
