Hiroyuki Hatashima – Senior Evaluation Officer, Finance and Private Sector Development, at the World Bank's Independent Evaluation Group (IEG). Currently, Hiroyuki has been leading a project evaluation of IFC and MIGA's agribusiness, manufacturing, and services (MAS) sector. His recent evaluation reports include "The International Finance Corporation's Blended Finance Operations." He was one of the co-TTL for the evaluation of IFC's Approach to Engaging Clients for Increased Development Impact. He also contributed to the assessment of IFC's Experience with Inclusive Business. Prior to joining IEG, Hiroyuki was an IFC Investment Officer in the Small and Medium Enterprise Department and the Department of Special Operations. Before joining the World Bank Group, he spent six years in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, with the African Development Bank as a financial risk management officer and a country economist. He also held various positions in a research institution, banks, and a brokerage firm in Tokyo, Japan. Hiroyuki holds a MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Sussex, a MSc in Financial Economics from the University of London, and a BA from McGill University.
