Emilio joined the Private Infrastructure Development Group in 2015, as Executive Director in charge of Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund, PIDG’s long term debt facility. Since December 2019 he has been responsible for the deployment of PIDG’s Technical Assistance grant product. He has over 30 years of corporate finance, asset management and advisory experience across several markets, including Africa, Latin America, India and Southern Europe. He spent close to 20 years with HSBC in the UK and abroad. Subsequently, he worked in a number of smaller firms, including an advisory M&A boutique that he founded and ran for 7 years and in a commodity brokerage firm focused on emerging markets, including Africa. Previously, Emilio was Director, Asset Management, at Climate Change Capital, a London-based fund manager focused on climate mitigation investment strategies, where he was closely involved in developing agri-business and renewable energy transactions in Africa. A graduate of the University of Oxford, he read Biochemistry (with Economics) at Hertford College.
