Presentation

Jonathan Coony is a Sr Climate Finance Specialist in the Climate Change division of the World Bank Group. He currently leads the Bank’s effort to design options for a new climate finance architecture and advises on carbon finance trust fund programs. Previously, Jonathan was Global Lead for Green Competitiveness at the World Bank where he grew the organization’s support for private sector activity in climate-related markets. He also served as Program Coordinator of the World Bank Climate Technology Program (CTP) which, under his leadership, grew from ideation to a global network of seven Climate Innovation Centers. Prior to joining the Bank, Jonathan worked at the International Energy Agency (IEA), and earlier in his career, Jonathan structured project finance for power plants, and developed and marketed a clean cooling technology for the Caribbean. Jonathan holds an MBA from INSEAD (France), and MS and BS degrees in engineering from Brown University (USA) and has two U.S. patents in clean energy technology.
