Maria Teresa is Market Infrastructure Expert in the Directorate General Payments and Market Infrastructures at the European Central Bank. In her capacity, she is responsible for developing policies on payments innovation issues, and coordinates the Secretariat of the ECB Internal Crypto-Assets Task Force. Prior to joining the ECB, Maria Teresa worked as Senior Payment Specialist in the World Bank’s Finance, Competitiveness & Innovation Global Practice, where she focused on providing technical assistance on payment system reform. Maria Teresa holds a Master’s Degree in Public and International Governance, International Relations and Affairs from Scuola Superiore ISUFI, Euro-Mediterranean School of Law and Politics, University of Salento, Italy.
