Jens Sedemund

Jens Sedemund is Head of the Environment and Climate Change team in OECD’s Development Co-operation Directorate. Prior to this, Jens was Senior Advisor on Development Finance, focusing on blended finance, climate-related development finance and green investment.
From 2008 until 2016, he headed the office of the Chair of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC), working closely with the Chair on the political dimensions and on the agenda setting of the DAC’s work, and taking the lead on developing new initiatives, including the Sustainable Development Investment Partnership, and the ReDesigning Development Finance Initiative.
Earlier at OECD, he set up and led the engagement with emerging economies on international development, while also working on the development dimensions of trade. His experience before joining OECD include working in microfinance and on launching a B2B marketplace for international commodities trade.
Jens holds a Masters’ degrees from Bonn University, Germany, and from Stanford University, USA.
