Cameron directs the INVEST initiative, a $167 million collaboration platform that aligns the skills and capital of donors, investors and corporates to achieve development outcomes. INVEST deploys USAID resources globally to create viable investment opportunities with social and financial returns. Over the last three years, he has also managed the Mobilizing Institutional Investors to Develop Africa’s Infrastructure (MiDA) Initiative, a collaboration between USAID and the US and African pension communities that has mobilized $1 billion in institutional capital commitments. Cameron is a founding member of USAID’s Private Capital and Microenterprise Office, whose mandate is to work more strategically to mobilize private investment into priority USAID sectors and markets. He has been a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and managed development projects in a variety of frontier and emerging markets. His focus areas include SME finance, enterprise development, privatization, project finance, capacity building, private sector development, and capital markets development.
