Description
Hendrik is the EU Public Affairs Manager at Make.org. He is passionate about the topics of innovative ways to engage citizens in public life, enhancing democratic participation and making use of technology for the common good.
Make.org is a European civic tech organisation that engages citizens, associations, companies, institutions and media in the positive transformation of society. They have an extensive track record of diverse participatory initiatives, together with a diverse set of partners: international institutions, administrations (national, regional, local), companies, as well as NGOs. Make.org enables massive consultations and citizen dialogues that result in concrete (civic or legislative) action.
Prior to his current position, Hendrik worked for the private, public and the NGO sector. Throughout the years, he built his expertise in participatory democracy and citizen engagement in EU politics, specialising in digital democracy. He is a social scientist by training, with a focus on European politics. Hendrik holds two master degrees: in European Studies (University of Maastricht), as well as in European Governance (College of Europe, Bruges).
