Description
Christos was appointed Deputy Permanent Representative in May 2022.
Initially, has joined the Greek Delegation to the OECD as Economic Counsellor, back in September 2020.
Prior to that, as an expert Counsellor at the Hellenic MFA since 2011, Christos has served in various positions. Among others, in 2018, Christos was assigned at the Permanent Representation of Greece to the EU, as coordinator of the negotiations for the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework and the recovery plan for Europe. Earlier on, Christos served as a member of the cabinet to the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs, whereas during the Hellenic Presidency to the EU in 2014, Christos was
assigned Chairman of the Humanitarian Affairs Committee at the Council of the European Union.
Earlier in his career, since the late nineties, Christos worked in Brussels, as an official at the European Commission, and as a lobbyist for the European automotive industry. Has worked also in Athens, since 2005, as a special advisor in the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well
as a member of the cabinet to the Minister of Economy and to the Minister of Labour.
Christos holds a bachelor’s in International Relations from the School of Foreign Service, The American University, Washington D.C.; a Licence Spéciale (master’s) in European Political Affairs from the Institute of European Studies, Université Libre de Bruxelles; and a second master’s degree in International Politics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles as well.
Christos is a Greek native speaker, but he also speaks English, French and Spanish.
