Description
Guus Houttuin is Senior Trade Advisor to the European External Action Service and chairs the OECD Multi-stakeholder Steering Group on "responsible minerals". He focuses on due diligence in the supply chain and responsible business conduct from a Brussels’ and global perspective and also monitors countries' performance on human and labour rights and environment under the EU's General Scheme of Preferences. As Ambassador for the Council of the EU he contributed to the establishment of the Human Rights Council. Previously he was Legal Adviser to the Council of the European Union, i.a. during the negotiations on the Kyoto and Cartagena protocols.
