Such transparency is essential to understanding the potential of the sector to deliver much-needed minerals for the low-carbon transition in an equitable manner, with an eye towards shared benefits and rigorous management of negative impacts The session will discuss reasons why the information reported by mining companies needs to address wider concerns and information needs of stakeholders, such as investors, local communities, and customers using minerals in their products, with a focus on the latest developments of voluntary disclosure of sustainability information to mandatory.
