Description
With over almost 20 years experience working on successful campaigns on to improve policies and practice in the anti-corruption, climate, extractives and women's rights areas.
Clancy has led teams in Myanmar, Solomon Islands, East-Asia, and Australia and is currently the CEO of Transparency International Australia.
At Transparency International (TI) Australia, he oversee TI's global mining programme operating in 23 countries with a focus on addressing corruption risks in the licensing phase and strengthening governance in the mining of energy transition minerals. He sits on the steering committee of Publish What You Pay and is a member of the Australian Open Government Forum.
In 2021, he co-led a complaint with 240 Myanmar CSOs against an Australian mining company under the OECD guidelines for MNEs for lack of human rights due diligence and irresponsible disengagement from a conflict zone.
He lectures regularly at Australian universities and appears in media on corruption issues.
