Description
Odeneho is an astute mining engineer whose 31 years post-graduation experience in the mining industry spans gold, coal, diamond, and platinum.
After graduating from The University of Science and Technology School of Mines in Ghana in 1990, he joined Ashanti Goldfields as a Technical Mining Assistant until 1993. He migrated to South Africa and obtained his Mine Overseer and Mine Manager's Certificates of competency. He worked for various mining companies and mining methods (alluvial, open pit, underground, and ocean mining) and rose to the Operations Manager at AngloPlatinum in 2004.
In 2010, he returned to Ghana to explore opportunities in West Africa. He was employed by AngloGold Ashanti as Project Manager to set up Ajopa Pit. From then he worked in expatriate capacity as a Mine Manager in the DRC and Mali.
He joined Newmont Mining Corporation in August 2014 as Mine Manager and in 2020 was appointed General Manager of the Ahafo Mine.
Currently he is the Omanhene of Essumeja and Asanteman Benkumhene.
