Description
Gudrun Franken is head of the unit Mining and Sustainability at BGR, the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources, Germany, the central geoscientific authority providing advice to the German Federal Government. She is an expert on issues related to due diligence in mineral supply chains and sustainability standards in mining. She is member of the related OECD Multistakeholder Steeting Group (MSG) and worked for more than a decade on sustainable development in the minerals sector, with a speical focus on African and Asian countries. She studied environmental sciences and holds a PhD in geosciences from the University of Hannover.
