The Swiss Better Gold (SBG) is a unique Public-Private Partnership between the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO and the Swiss Better Gold Association which establishes value chains for responsible gold from mine to market, aiming at the reduction of poverty and improvement of social and environmental conditions in artisanal and small-scale gold mining.
Established in 2013, the Initiative celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and is pleased to present its results in terms of social, environmental and technical achievements in ASGM sector realised so far. Also, the SBG has been working on establishing (and wishes to feature at the Forum) its’ Climate Change action plan, which will support upstream and downstream partners in lowering carbon emissions, enhancing usage of water and controlling impact on biodiversity.
