Description
Irwandy Arif is one of the Indonesian Mining Institute (IMI) founders. He studied S1 Mining Engineering at ITB, S2 Industrial Engineering at ITB, and S2 and S3 education at Ecole des Mines de Nancy–Institut Polytechnique de Lorraine–NANCY-France. His academic career began in 1976, he was a former Professor of Mining Engineering ITB until January 1, 2022.
Besides academic career, Irwandy also serves as Commissioner of PT Bukit Asam Tbk, Chairman of the Expert Board of Indonesian Mining Experts Association (PERHAPI), and advisor from several mining associations including Indonesian Coal Mining Association (APBI-ICMA), Indonesian Mining Association (IMA), Association of Indonesian Mining Service
Companies (ASPINDO), and the Indonesian Nickel Miners Association (APNI).
Besides being active in national associations, he is also a member of the Society of Mining Engineers USA. Thanks to his contribution to the Indonesian mining industry, he now serves as Special Staff to the Minister of Energy Resources and Minerals for the Acceleration of Mineral and Coal Governance.
