Dr. Angelique Gatsinzi is an Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASM) Specialist at the World Bank, where she supports efforts to reposition the ASM sector as a catalyst for sustainable development, poverty reduction, and inclusive economic growth. She holds a PhD in Management, with research focused on child labour in ASM, and brings over a decade of experience working across Africa at the intersection of child protection, youth empowerment, rural development, and extractives governance. Her work centers on designing and supporting initiatives that mitigate the social impacts of natural resource extraction and foster more equitable outcomes for vulnerable communities.
