Description
The Deputy Minister is a lawyer from Universidad Externado de Colombia, with an International Master's degree in Economic Law from the University of Bologna and a Doctorate in Political Science from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in New Delhi.
She has worked as a professor and researcher at Universidad Externado de Colombia in the Faculty of Finance, Government, and International Relations. She has also directed two management centers focused on Asian countries, such as the Center for Studies and Services on Contemporary India and South Asia (Cesicam), and the Center for Turkish and Caucasus Studies.
Additionally, she has held various positions in the Colombian Association of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (Acopi). She was the director of the National Office for the Bolivar Program for Technological Integration, Regional Cooperation, and Competitiveness, a program by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). She has served as an advisor to the Ministry of Economic Development and, most recently, as an advisor to the Superior Council of Foreign Trade.
She designed the Action Plan for the Central American Community's integration of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (Mipyme) in the negotiation process of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Central American countries, in collaboration with the German Cooperation Agency (GTZ) and Cempromype in Central America/San Salvador.
Her extensive experience has allowed her to participate in and publish books and scientific articles, including "Attracting Foreign Investment from Emerging Countries: The Case of India and Colombia," "India: Strategic Partner for Colombia," "Transition from Informality to Formality: The Time for Inclusion," "Globalization for All," and "The Asymmetric Game of Trade: The Colombia-United States Free Trade Agreement."
