Description
Marian Piecha graduated in Civil Engineering at Brno University of Technology. He completed his doctoral studies at Czech Technical University in Prague. He then obtained a Masters of Law degree from the University of New York in Prague. From 2005 to 2006, he worked as a policy officer at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, where he focused on programme financing. He has worked at the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) since 2006. In 2008, he became director of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Investment at the MIT. From 2013 to 2014 he was Director General of the CzechInvest Agency. Since 2014, he was director of the MIT SME Support Department. He was appointed Deputy Minister responsible for the EU Funds and Digital Economy Section on 1 February 2018; the name was changed to the EU Funds Section on 1 February 2019. In addition, he lectures at the University of Economics in Prague and is a member of two university councils.
